The last time we heard from Bristol’s Louis Jack was with the hold-your-breath-worthy single ‘Meadow’. That former track was a dark and unflinching look at the realities of life. Now, like yin to that yang comes much lighter affair ‘It’s Your Love’. The new song really shows how the rapper and producer has been exploring new reaches of his sound. You can still find those atmospheric electronics, minimalist beats and pan vocals, although for ‘It’s Your Love’, it would appear that Louis Jack has taken a page out of Drake’s playbook using autotune in that familiar fashion. This measured reflection on a treasured love comes with a video directed by Lucy Werrett and Isla Gaffney, and starring the ephemeral vision of Ratiba Ayadi. Stopping just shy of two minutes, Louis Jack doesn’t feel the need to stretch the song out further; he’s said all he needs to in that refined, alternative style that he never fails to deliver. - Hannah Thacker
